Labor Day Weekend

No knifings, stranglings or other end of life events. It all sorted it self out.

It was a weekend of birthday celebrations and included a trip to Blue Man Group but even better the walk to the theatre passed a very busy garage with the usual car detrius including broken metal parts, used tires and greasy mechanics, all of which fascinated Kate. So we used this as a launching pad to discuss what it was that she liked about this and what she might like to do. use her hands. Well, that could be many things we discussed including architecture or engineering. I am always happy to have a conversation where Kate can think of many things to do including going to MIT which certainly came up in this chat.

a trip around New York harbor in a clipper ship and then, the most important trip of all, to the Verizon store to buy a cell phone. All shoals mostly avoided and she came away with a cell phone with a keyboard although she will have no texting ability and I came away with a chaperone capability which is essentially a GPS so that anytime she uses the phone it flashes her destination to my computer.

Big Birthday party for extended family and now reality. School tomorrow. One of my oldest friends called today and when told that the first day of school was tomorrow, asked what kind of dress kate would be wearing !!!!!
